Yonael Marga is a designer whose work is deeply influenced by his upbringing across different regions of Ethiopia. Born in Harar, a city known for its rich history and cultural diversity, and later moving through various parts of the country—including the western and northern regions—Yonael's experiences shaped his unique perspective on design, architecture, and fashion.
His brand is a direct reflection of these experiences, merging Ethiopia's deep-rooted traditions with modern innovation.

Why Yonael Marga Created the Brand
For Yonael, fashion is more than just clothing—it is a medium of storytelling, heritage preservation, and self-expression. He founded his brand to create garments that bridge the past and the future, blending traditional craftsmanship with contemporary aesthetics.
His goal was to establish a brand that would celebrate Ethiopian artistry while challenging conventional fashion norms, particularly the fast-paced, consumer-driven culture that dominates the industry today.
The Inspiration Behind the Brand
Yonael Marga's designs are deeply inspired by Ethiopia's diverse landscapes, architecture, and cultural symbols. The rich colors of Ethiopia's regions, from the warm tones of the Harar walls to the deep greens of the southern forests, serve as a strong foundation for his work.
He is also influenced by the structure and form of historical architecture, drawing from Ethiopia's rock-hewn churches and traditional tukuls, which inform the silhouettes and construction of his garments.
